Horspath 2nd face a winner takes all showdown with Bledlow Ridge 2nd in Division 6 at the weekend to determine which side will join champions Wallingford in Division 5.

Horspath saw off another of their promotion rivals on Saturday by beating Thame Town 2nd by two wickets.

Steve Beard hit 73 in Thame's 186-5, but Chris Gray's 59 and good batting by the tail saw Horspath to 187-8.

Bledlow Ridge 2nd maintained their 12-point lead over Horspath 2nd by beating local rivals Bledlow Village 2nd.

Trac Walker scored 41 while David Maunder took 4-13 in Bledlow's 142 all out, then Geoff Tombs (55) and Henry Hale (61no) saw Ridge to 143-2.

Trevor Spindler took 5-40 to bowl Wallingford to victory at Wolverton Town 2nd.

Only James Bell (45) put up much resistance for Town as they were bowled out for 141.

This was in reply to Wallingford's 167 all out, of which Rob Sessions top-scored with 64, while Glenn Dickinson took 5-42.

Julian Lawton Smith (62), Mark Sheehan (57), and James Davis (41) took Oxford 3rd to 220-7 at home to basement boys Stanton St John Willows.

Peter Davenport (41) and Jeremy Talbot (46) gave Willows hope of a rare win, but John Finch took 5-50 and they were all out for 197.

Willows were also deducted five points for failing to provide an umpire.

James Collett hit a fine 108 not out and Charlie Garratt 44 as Bourton Vale 2nd scored an imposing 260-7 at Long Marston 2nd.

Andrew Pierce then scored 84 and Paul Young 40 as Marston played out for the draw, closing on 227-5.
