Georgia Harvey put in a strong showing to help Team Oxfordshire finish second in their UK Youth Development League Midland Premier 2 meeting at Yeovil.

Harvey (Abingdon Amblers) won the under 17 girls’ 800m in a personal best time of 2mins 18.8secs.

She then teamed up with Radley pair Gina Sunderland and Hayley Perrin plus Becky Hodgson (White Horse Harriers) as the composite team won the under 20 ladies’ 4x400m relay.

Other local athletes to record victories include White Horse Harrier Zack Smith, who won the under 17 boys’ 100m in 11.6secs.

Abingdon’s Michael Fabes took the 3,000m in 10.27.5.

For the under 20 ladies, Perrin won the high jump in 1.55m, while Radley clubmate Erika Davies claimed the under 17 girls’ 1,500m steeplechase in 6.34.7.

Team Oxfordshire’s under 17/20 side are second in the table after two of the four rounds.

l Dan Hamilton smashed his 3,000m best with a strong display in the latest Watford Open meeting.

The 21-year-old Abingdon Ambler took 13 seconds off his previous mark to record 8mins 40.40secs.
