ABINGDON’S Jack Shayler came 25th at the South of England AA Championships in Brighton.
He crossed in a time of 59mins 6secs in the under 20 men’s race.
Lucy Rycroft, of White Horse Harriers, came 30th in the ladies equivalent, with Abingdon’s Lottie Siddle 39th.
Meanwhile, Abingdon’s Paul Hughes battled through the mud to finish ninth at a hilly Slaughterford 9 near Chippenham.
At the Romsey five-mile, James Clayton set a personal best of 28.50 to come home 16th.
