White Horse Harrier Richard Jegou had a successful weekend at the Midland Masters Athletics Championships at Solihull, emerging with three silver medals.
His successes came in the shot (10.57m), discus (32.20m) and hammer (31.99m), the hammer producing his best throw for four years.
l Abingdon Amblers’ Duncan Talbot won the vet 55 high jump with a championship record leap of 1.54m at the Southern Counties Vets Championships in Kingston-upon-Thames.
Talbot also won the 100m hurdles in 18.53.
l Abingdon Ambler Hilary O’Shea completed the 22-mile Man v Horse race in 4hrs 16 mins.
l Les Newell (Abingdon Amblers) finished second in the Yarnton 5 after a strong finish.
Newell overhauled Witney Roadrunner Tegid Jones in the final mile to clock 28mins 17secs.

In the relays, Didcot Girls storming home at under 13, while Icknield (Watlington) took the honours in the under 15 boys.
