David Slade produced amazing figures of 9-31 as Didcot crushed Chear-sley by nine wickets in Cherwell League Division 3 on Saturday.

The former Oxfordshire seamer, whose first five wickets were lbw, bowled out the hosts for 91 in 30.4 overs.

Then Simon Pritchard (49no) saw Didcot to 92-1 in 17.1 overs.

Marco Cecchini hit 128 not out as Kingston Bagpuize cruised past Wallingford.

Martin Shepherd chipped in with 34 in Bagpuize’s 213-6, with Mark Carey taking 3-71.

Rob Sessions hit 34, but Matt Warner (3-32) and Harrison Ward (3-18) had the visitors all out for 154.

Justin Penrose hit 101 in vain for Challow & Childrey 2nd as Abingdon Vale 2nd won by four wickets in Division 5.

Penrose was joined by Adam Tamplin (47) as Challow amassed 252-5.

But Tom Pollard (80), Paul Butcher (58) and David Atcherley-Symes (45no) saw Vale to 256-6.

Didcot 2nd defied John Coles’s all-round efforts for Aston Rowant 3rd to record a 97-run victory in Division 6.

Coles took 6-53 in hosts Didcot’s 211 all out, which saw James Head hit 46 and Viraj Perera 39.

Patrick Boulton (3-22) helped dismiss Rowant for 118, despite Coles making 44 and Sam Shepherd 30.

Abingdon 3rd were well beaten in their Division 7 clash at home to East Oxford 2nd.

Stand-in captain Stuart Cardy enjoyed a return to form with the bat, hitting 41, while Dennis Lanham continued his good run of form with 38.

But the duo received little help from their teammates as they were bowled out for 105, the visitors wasting little time in securing a nine-wicket victory.

Didcot 3rd were rueing the concession of 51 extras as they lost by just four runs at Cumnor 3rd in Division 8.

Extras top-scored in Cumnor’s innings of 142, Carl Hancock taking 5-8.

Ian Curtis then claimed 3-24 in Didcot’s 138, which saw the final three wickets fall for no runs with victory in sight.

Kingston Bagpuize 2nd’s Dan Jacob (4-2) and James Kyberd (3-7) dismissed hosts Thame Town 3rd for 67 to set up their side’s eight-wicket win.

Garry Cook top-scored with 51 as Vale were dismissed for 113, the target proving no problem for the hosts.
