Spinner Paul White took five wickets cheaply to help dismiss Cropredy and set up a double for Abingdon Vale in Cher-well League Division 2 on Saturday.

Vale were defending 178, with David Dyer (56) and Charles Smook (35) supplying more than half their runs, while Adam Goodway enjoy-ed a season’s best 5-21.

White took 5-13 and Henry Pickford 3-10 as Vale shot out Cropredy for 89.

Challow & Childrey let Wolverton Town get away to 231 and then fell 48 runs short in pursuit.

Zak Wade (65), Kieran Lampard (58) and Curtley Ewins (32) shone, while Ross Packham picked up 4-57.

Conor Jones (42), Justin Penrose (36) and Luke Jones (33) kept Challow interested, but Zahoor ur Reham (4-32), Zaheer Khan (3-28) and Mohammad Shabzad (3-60) eased them out for 183.

Ian Demain took 5-60 and hit an unbeaten 54 as Division 4 leaders Didcot thrashed Stokenchurch.

Jordan Morrison (4-16) was also in the wickets as the visitors were toppled for 127.

Then Simon Pritchard matched Demain’s score as Didcot made 128-2 in only 22.4 overs.

Stokenchurch were penal-ised five points and so ended the day with two fewer points than they started.

Wallingford’s total of 214-8, built around Mark Carey’s 82, was not enough against Buckingham 2nd.

Steve Brunning (114no) hit a ton as Buckingham passed the target for the loss of only three wickets.

Abingdon Vale 2nd lost out against Twyford 2nd in Division 5.

Rob Hood led the way in Vale’s 153 all out, which also featured good spells from Nathan Perna (3-30) and Kenny Massey (3-31).

Simon Griffin took 5-26 for the hosts, but Ian Wilkin-son’s 35 saw Twyford reach 154-7.

Bottom club Challow & Childrey 2nd went down by seven wickets away to leaders leaders Leighton Buzzard Town 2nd.

Harry Kent and Harry Whitehead both hit 31 for Challow, but they were all out for 132 before Leighton replied with 134-3.
