LEADERS East & West Hendred won a thrilling OCA League Division 1 clash with Great Horwood by one wicket to stay clear at the top.

An excellent spell of bowling from Kashif Rashid (6-34) restricted Horwood to 194-8 in their 45 overs, Sam Willett hitting 60 and Dale Armitage 53.

Hendred started shakily, but an 84-run stand between Jack Mulford (85) and Andy Francis (66no) took them within touching distance of the winning line.

But they lost late wickets edging home in the final over with their last pair together.

Faringdon cruised to a six-wicket win at Yarnton & Cowley.

Yarnton were all out for 144, Ahmed Muaz hitting 64 not out and Mike Hume taking 5-30. Faringdon then eased to 145-4.

In Division 2, Damien Wiskin starred for second-placed Wootton & Boars Hill, leading his side to a 75-run victory over visitors Westcott.

Wiskin struck 105 not out to steer Wootton to 262-4 in their 45 overs, before returning figures of 6-66 to help dismiss Westcott for 187, Tanveer Hussain top-scoring with 51.

Clifton Hampden fell to an 18-run defeat at home to leaders Witney Swifts.

Charlie Fisher hit 101 and George Seacole 96 not out to lead Swifts to 254-4.

Clifton chased well, but finished short on 236 all out as Fisher took 5-36, Andrew Pynegar hitting 66 for the hosts.

Wantage suffered at the hands of Marsh Gibbon’s Joe Leonard, who hit a terrific 134 in a 119-run away win.

The visitors racked up 294-7 thanks to Leonard’s ton before Wantage were bowled out for 175.

Watlington skittled out Fringford for 49, before cruising to ten-wicket victory in Division 3.

West Ilsley thrashed Marcham by eight wickets in Division 4.

They dismissed Marcham for 145, before Tom Carlisle hit 80 to lead Ilsley home.

Leaders Dorchester eased past hosts Uffington by seven wickets.

Tight bowling held the home side to 165 all out, and then Conor Graney (50no) and Richard Sharman (41) saw Dorchester to 166-3.

Steventon’s Mithun Sortur hit 107 to help his side to a 59-run victory over visitors Wolvercote 2nd in Division 5. Sortur and Glen Willett (55) helped Steventon to 236 all out, Matthew Lardner taking 4-39.

Wolvercote fell for 177, with Lalit Chablani taking 5-31.

Britwell Salome lost at Hailey & West Witney by three runs in a thriller.

Omer Tariq top-scored with 49 in Hailey’s 209-9, Neil Lawrence taking 4-48.

Sean King then captured 4-32 as Britwell fell just short on 198, despite 52 from Ali Khushi.

In Division 6, Martin Elliott returned outstanding figures of 8-21 to help hosts Chipping Norton 2nd to a 12-run victory over Wootton & Boars Hill.

Earlier, Chippy had been dismissed for only 130, but Elliott’s haul saw Wootton shot out for 118.

Leaders Shrivenham defeated visitors East & West Hendred 2nd by nine wickets.

After restricting Hendred to 153-8, Steve Bowles (50no), Manoj Perera (49) and Alex Bowles (42no) saw Shrivenham to victory.

In Division 8 South, leaders Chalgrove crushed visitors Marcham 2nd by ten wickets after shooting them out for 53.

Cameron Welsh (94no) and Simon Clark (51no) saw Uffington 2nd to a nine-wicket win at Dorchester 2nd.
