DAMIEN Wiskin’s spell of 6-19 helped Wootton & Boars Hill to a 130-run victory at Broughton & North Newington in OCA League Division 2.

Wootton set the hosts 218-6 as Shaun Morton top-scored with 76.

Broughton had no answer to Wiskin as they fell to 88 all out.

In Division 1, Faringdon saw off visitors Wolvercote by three wickets.

Mark Child hit 53 in Wolvercote’s 166, Mike Hume claiming 4-36.

Rob Brown (48) and Ian Oglesby (34no) then led the hosts to 168-7.

Watlington edged past hosts Risinghurst by one wicket in Division 3.

Neil Maguire’s super spell of 4-13 in 12 overs saw Risinghurst bowled out for 113, Selvam Raman hitting 55.

Watlington struggled to reach the target, Rakesh Nambiar taking 3-32.

But Maguire was the hero with the bat, hitting a six to finish the game and wrap up victory.

There was also a thrilling finish at Sunningwell, who edged past Uffington by one wicket in Division 4.

The visitors were bowled out for 151 as Peter Jones hit 67 and Ben Roberts and Andy Claydon both claimed three wickets.

Jones then claimed 4-22 with the ball and Martin Key 3-48, but Sunningwell squeezed over the winning line with nine wickets down.

West Ilsley crushed visitors Swinbrook by eight wickets.

They bowled Swinbrook out for 86, Andy Brown taking 4-29 and Patrick MacKenzie-Charrington 4-33 before Jack Barrett (38no) led them to victory.

In Division 5, Radley lost by five wickets at Ducklington.

George Townsend clai-med 4-45 in Radley’s total of 211-9, before Jacob Hughes struck 73 and Lloyd Lewis 57 not out to lead Ducklington to victory at 212-5.

Kennington beat hosts Britwell Salome by four wickets.

The home side set 212-5 in their 45 overs, Steve Strong top-scoring with 57.

But 79 from Duncan Robson and 44 not out from Russell Vircavs saw Kennington over the line at 213-6.

Steventon ran out seven-run victors away to Great Horwood 2nd.

Mithun Sortur struck 55 out of Steventon’s 180 all out, Peter McHenry taking 5-73. But Phil Armstrong then claimed 4-40 for the visitors as Horwood were all out for 173.

In Division 6, Alex Bowles struck magnificent 134 as Shrivenham brushed aside hosts Wootton & Boars Hill by 157 runs.

Shrivenham racked up 274-4 and then ran through Wootton for 117, Matt Haywood claiming 5-41.

Division 8 South leaders Chalgrove were too strong for hosts Watlington 2nd, winning by 83 runs.

Matthew Skilleter struck 64 in Chalgrove’s 247 all out, Chris Little taking 4-49.

Mark Taylor hit 92 not out in Watlington’s reply, but they were held to 164-6, Richard Murphy claiming 3-43.

Dorchester 2nd beat visitors Steventon 2nd by five wickets.

George Dugdale claimed 4-27 in Steventon’s 153 all out, Joe Bennett hitting 57 not out and Dave Webb 56.

Chris Rudling (48) and Mike Ottrey (46) then combined to lead Dorchester to 154-5.

Altaf Ali’s five-wicket haul was in vain for Kennington 2nd, who lost by 13 runs at home to Sunningwell.

Ali took 5-45, but Sunningwell reached 181 all out, Colin Thorpe top-scoring with 67.

Mark Trafford scored 79 in Kennington’s 168.
