CRICKET: Didcot members get on their bikes for club

Didcot Cricket Club’s members take a break from training for a fundraising cycle ride from Lands End to John O’Groats in July.

The ride will help fund the refurbishment of the pavilion and facilities at their Power Station ground and the group hope to complete the 918-mile ride in 12 days Significant support has already been given by The Marketing Bureau, Pryor’s Taxis and Bob’s Family Butchers.

Didcot chairman David Pryor said: “The pavilion has grown thanks to the tremendous efforts of our members and our landlords RWE nPower.

“But it needs significant further investment to bring it up to appropriate standards, and to fit with the modern image of Didcot.

“The club need to improve facilities for younger cricketers, to cater for girls and boys and potentially to improve disabled access.

“Improvements are essential for the club’s expansion.”
