SIMON Berry returned the amazing figures of 6-8 for East & West Hendred, but still finished on the losing side in their OCA League Divison 2 derby against Let-combe on Saturday, writes Kieren Bushnell.
Despite Berry’s figures, Letcombe still posted 184 all out, Martin Key hitting 50.
Steve Shepherd then made 69 in Hendred’s reply, but they fell to 176 all out, with Richard Taylor taking 5-31.
Faringdon went top as they thumped Fringford by 122 runs.
Ian Oglesby (57) and Mike Hume (51no) helped Faringdon to 206-4, before Darren Clarke took 4-6 as Fringford were shot out for 84.
Shrivenham’s Mark Whale top-scored with 87 to help his to a seven-run victory over Marcham in Division 1.
Alex Kill (56) and Adam Tucker (55) helped Shrivenham to 239-6, before Marcham were held to 232-9 in reply, Eddie Howard top-scoring with 46.
Clifton Hampden had no answer to the bowling of Witney Swifts’ Omar Hussain during their six-wicket defeat in Division 3.
Hussain took 5-14 as Clifton were shot out for 109.
Radley went down by three wickets to Oxenford in a tight game.
Tony Jackson (82) saw Radley to 195 all out, Simon Wharton taking 4-37 and Aaron Hirtenstein 4-43..
Russell Jeffries hit 89 as West Ilsley rattled up 261-7 against Westcott. The visitors were then bowled out for 178, Mike Wallace taking 4-36 and Richard Beech 4-50.
In Division 4, Uffington succumbed by eight wickets to East Oxford 2nd.
Uffington were restricted to 133-9, Tom Wyatt scoring 51 not out. Javeed Faruq (51no) and Khalid Mahmood (30no) saw East Oxford home.
Britwell Salome edged past Charlbury 2nd by three wickets.
Tom Nash (55) had seen Charlbury to 186-4, but Ber-nard Tyler (56), Chris Penny (45no) and Kevin Slater (42) helped Britwell to reach 187-7.
Chalgrove had no answer to Chadlington’s Danny Har-ding as they crashed to a 149-run defeat in Divison 5.
Harding smashed 144 not out as Chadlington posted a formidable 268-5, before Martin Shepherd took 5-42 as Chalgrove fell to 119 all out.
Kennington were pipped by one wicket by Chesterton, after being bowled out for 137.
In Division 6, Rhys Mills hit 92 and Chris Sugden 65 not out as Shrivenham 2nd scored 203-6 against Stanton St John Willows. Richard Deacon claimed 4-39 as Willows were bowled out for 148.
In Division 7, Liam Richards hit 90 as Hanney beat Westbury 2nd by 102 runs.
Paul Turner took 5-27 as Watlington 2nd beat Faringdon 2nd by six wickets in Division 9.
Faringdon were skittled for 97, before Tom King hit 67 not out to see Watlington 100-4.
