Abingdon Vale’s wretched start to the The Oxford Times Cherwell League campaign continued with a 138-run hammering away to Great & Little Tew in Division 2 on Saturday.
Tew's Anthony Smith, hit 65 as the hosts reached 221-9 from 53 overs.
Vale never recovered from a dreadful start and were grateful that Chris Roderick's 39 saved them from complete humiliation, but they were still bowled out for 83, Smith taking 5-36.
Challow & Childrey suffered their first defeat of the season, going down by seven wickets to leaders Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts.
Nondies dismissed Challow for 150.
Ryan Hill took 5-30 as only Ben Jones (68) of the visiting batsmen showed any form.
Marco Cecchini's quickfire 74 and a rapid unbeaten 48 by Martin Shepherd helped Kingston Bagpuize race to a seven-wicket win over Bledlow Village in Divison 3.
Bledlow made 206-8 thanks to George Harman (63no) and Charles Downes (51).
Kingston reached the target in 36.4 overs.
James Barrett (89) and Lee Ainsworth (64) took Wallingford to 253-5 against Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd and a 120-run victory in Division 5.
Trevor Spindler returned 4-25 in Nondies’ 133 all out.
Challow & Childrey 2nd paid for a slow start at home to Leighton Buzzard Town 2nd as their 206-8 failed to prevent a seven-wicket defeat.
Justin Penrose injected some urgency into the scoring rate with an unbeaten 75, but Ben Friday (103no) and Craig Wakefield (48) saw Buzzard home.
Abingdon Vale 2nd managed to make 174 against Great & Little Tew 2nd, with Chris Butcher hitting 54 and Luke Mitchell 36.
A captain's innings of 52 by Ben Millard helped Tew to a four-wicket win.
Matt Jones starred for Didcot in an eight-wicket success at Brackley in Divison 6.
Jones, who bowled throughout, took 4-50 as the home side stumbled to 97-8 from their 52 overs, before steering Didcot home with 33 not out.
In Division 8, Didcot 2nd suffered an eight-wicket defeat after being dismissed for 135 against leaders Great Brickhill 2nd.
Didcot 3rd could post only 127 from 36 overs against Leighton Buzzard 3rd at their new home ground at Clifton Hampden in Division 9.
Haydn Durrant top-scored with 35 for Didcot, who lost by five wickets.
