CRICKET: Tyler raises roof with century


Bernard Tyler scored a magnificent century to help Division 4 side Britwell Salome to a three-wicket win against Division 3 outfit Oxenford in the OCA's Telegraph Cup.

In a high-scoring encounter, Oxenford rattled up 279-7, Neeraj Kumar scoring 104 and Darren Gawley 63 not out.

Britwell replied with 282-7, thanks to Tyler’s 133.

West Ilsley romped in by eight wickets at home to Westcott, who were dismissed for 120.

Richard Beech took 4-36 for Ilsley, who then cruised to victory at 124-2, Amit Rawal hitting a fluent 69 not out.

Clifton Hampden eased to a 99-run win over Oxford Rescue.

Veteran Malcolm Cox-Rogers made 79 to help Clifton to 225-7, Dave Barnhill taking 4-66.

In reply, Rescue fell to 126 all out, despite 67 from David Layen.

Radley cruised through with a 136-run win over Deddington.

Adam Scaldwell (66) and Ben Hatt (59) helped Radley to 210-5, before Barry Simms took 4-18 and Jonathan Quicke 3-14 as Deddington were bowled out for 74.

Uffington went down to Brill by 124 runs.

Put in on a dry wicket, Brill rattled up 205-7, Rob Gascoine hitting 54.

In reply, Uffington fell to 81 all out, thanks to a fantastic spell from Jack Green, who took 6-20.

Marcham 2nd eased thr-ough with a 45-run win over Eynsham 2nd in the Osberton Radiators Cup.

Shoaib Ahmed hit 50 in Marcham’s 209-8, then Deepak Patel took 4-28 as Eynsham were bowled out for 164.

East & West Hendred 2nd beat Garsington 2nd by six runs.

Adrian Francis scored 58 as Hendred were dismissed for 150, then Pete Beckley finished with 4-35 as Garsington fell for 144.

West Ilsley 2nd lost by 11 runs in a tight game against Tetsworth 2nd.

Richard Williams (54) and Abdul Hamid (50no) saw Tetsworth to 234, then West Ilsley fell for 223, Adrian Dray scoring 80 and Rudy Rock taking 5-13.

Shrivenham 2nd fell victom to Clive Plant, who took 5-36 as Hook Norton 2nd won by six wickets.

Shrivenham were bowled out for 131, before Plant hit 39 not out to steer Hooky to 132-4.
