CRICKET: Adam tucks in to boost Shrivenham


AamM Tucker was the star as he hit 81 to help Shrivenham to a 27-run victory over fellow title hopefuls East Oxford in OCA Division 1.

Tucker helped Shrivenham to 188-8, and then claimed 4-36 as East Oxford were dismissed for 161.

Rommel Foster took 3-11 as Marcham were shot out for 125 by Tetsworth, before Olanzo Jackson’s 63 not out saw Tetsworth to 127-3.

Andrew McDowall claimed 5-24 to help Faringdon to a 99-run victory over Garsington.

Faringdon posted 160-9, Ian McDowall hitting 50 not out.

Andrew McDowall and Mike Hume (3-34) then combined as Garsington were skittled for 61.

Watlington eased to a 73-run win over Fringford in Division 2.

Bertie Proctor (70) and Steve Strong (59) saw Watlington to 198-4, before Strong (3-17) and Aaron Baker (3-50) helped to dismiss Fringford for 125.

East & West Hendred were bowled out for just 106 by Marsh Gibbon, Wayne Platts taking 4-22.

Marsh Gibbon reached 109-6 for victory, despite 4-23 from Jack Mulford.

Letcombe lost to Northleach by eight wickets.

Mark Larner (84no) and Neil Ferreira (77no) shone as Northleach chased Letcombe’s 196-8, in which Martin Key had hit 65.

In Division 3, Amit Rawal hit 73 for West Ilsley, but Alfie Saunders took 5-40 as they were bowled out for 150 in reply to Witney Swifts 221-8, Richard Beech taking 5-43.

In Division 5, Wootton & Boars Hill lost by 77 runs to leaders Chadlington.

Danny Harding (41) helped Chadlington to 182-9, before Martin Shepherd claimed 6-22 as Wootton collapsed to 121.

Adam Cowling (5-21) and Andrew Cruickshank (4-29) combined as Horley 2nd were skittled for 54 by Chalgrove.

Chalgrove had amassed 191-9, Mark Edwards hitting 46.

Jack Stimpson shone with bat and ball to help Dor-chester to a 43-run win over Shrivenham 2nd in Division 6.

Stimpson hit 58 not out in Dorchester’s 175-7, before taking 5-17 as Shrivenham fell to 132 all out.

Britwell Salome saw off Brill by four wickets to reach the last four of the Telegraph Cup.

Brill posted 238-6, with Ian Smith scoring 54 and Freddie Keys 42 not out.

But Bernard Tyler (95) was the mainstay in Britwell’s reply as they reached 239-6.

Clifton Hampden made the semi-finals after their eight-wicket win at West Ilsley.

Steve Wetherall took 6-30 as Ilsley were shot out for 72, before Clifton eased home.

Radley’s hopes were dashed as Tim Wyatt hammered an unbeaten century to help Stonesfield into the semi-finals.

Batting first, Radley were bowled out for 186. Wyatt then took over with the bat, hitting 110 not out as Stonesfield.

In the Steve Dixon Cup, Kennington lost by 89 runs to Chadlington.

Danny Harding (55), Richard Ingram (53no) and Freddie Magee (53) helped Chadlington to 246-5, before Ingram claimed 4-61 as Kennington fell for 157.
