JON Francis produced the highest score of the day in the OCA League but still saw his East & West Hen-dred side fall to defeat in Division 3, writes Kieren Bushnell.

Francis scored an unbeaten 136, while Nigel Hutt 79 as Hendred chased Eynsham’s mammoth score of 326-5 on a superb Hendred track.

Hendred fell to 295 all out, as Adam Hingley took 5-52.

Earlier Matthew Lake’s rapid119 plus 64 from Gary Cook helped Eynsham to their winning score.

Richard Beard’s 102 was also in vain for Clifton Ham-pden, who lost by five wickets against West Ilsley.

Clifton posted 235-9, but, led by Amit Rawal (59), Ilsley reached 237-5 for victory.

In Division 1, Dave Prosper scored 88 as Marcham saw off Tetsworth by 54 runs.

Marcham were dismissed for 214, before Andy Chalmers took 4-37 in Tetsworth’s 160.

Faringdon won a high-scoring clash against Charl-bury by seven wickets in Division 2.

Craig McCallum (64) and Ashley Rump (62) helped Charlbury to 245 all out, only for Faringdon to cruise in at 247-3, Paul Hume hitting 69 not out and Ian McDowall 50.

Letcombe edged to a two-wicket at Hook Norton.

The home side were dismissed for 177, before Richard Taylor (72no) led Letcombe to victory.

Watlington lost by six-wickets to Marsh Gibbon, for whom Will Hammond (77) and Joe Leonard (71) excelled.

Earlier, Chris Allen scored 84 in Watlington’s 205 all out.

Neil Lawrence returned superb figures of 6-9 as Brit-well Salome beat Hailey by 60 runs in Division 4.

Nick Humphries (47no) helpd Britwell to 143-7, before Lawrence’s haul sent Hailey tumbling to 83 all out.

Radley lost by three wickets to Winslow Town’s, for whom Peter Hornby made 82 not.

In Division 5, Uffington went down by 21 runs to West Witney, for whom Greg Inge scored a superb 128.

Batting first, West Witney rattled up 272-3, Patrick Smith chipping in with 86. Dan Painter (77) and Jamie Soa-mes (72) starred in Uffington’s reply, but they fell to 251 all out.

Hanney saw off Kidling-ton by 81 runs in Division 7.

Craig Woods (95) led Hanney to 246-7, before Rich-ard Green (4-35) and James Thomson (3-38) combined to dismiss Kidlington for 165.

In Division 8, Deepak Patel hit 77 not out to help Mar-cham 2nd to a three-wicket win over Combe 2nd.

Jack Belmont scored 100 not out for Combe, as they made 205-6 when batting first.
