Max Crocombe could make his international debut tomorrow
MAX Crocombe was made to wait for his international debut after watching New Zealand Under 20s’ win over Papua New Guinea as an unused substitute yesterday.
The 19-year-old goalkeeper left for the Under 20 World Cup qualifying tournament last week and will miss three Oxford United games, including tomorrow’s trip to Northampton.
He was only on the bench for the Junior All Whites’ opening game in Fiji, where Chris Milicich’s side won 5-0.
Crocombe will have another chance to make his bow in the early hours of tomorrow morning, when New Zealand face Vanuatu (kick-off 2am UK time).
If New Zealand win the tournament they will qualify for the Under 20 World Cup, held in Turkey this summer.
