NEGOTIATIONS are under way to keep Asa Hall at Oxford United beyond the end of this month.

The midfielder’s half-season loan from Shrewsbury Town expires on January 1.

Hall has made it clear he is keen to stay at the club, whom he left for the Shrews in May 2012.

Earlier this week Chris Wilder revealed they were optimistic of reaching an agreement with Fulham to extend Ryan Williams’s stay and the U’s boss is keen to do the same with Hall.

He said: “We did a deal with Shrewsbury that obviously needs to be discussed again.

“He is still their player in January and they will look at what is best for them.

“We would like to keep Asa going into the new year. I think he has done particularly well in the last two or three games.

“Over the season he has come up with some important goals and performances, so I’d certainly like to extend it.”
