OXFORD United's visit to Newport County this afternoon has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Referee Rob Lewis arrived early at Rodney Parade to conduct an inspection and with further rain expected before kick-off he deemed the surface unplayable.

Newport had worked hard to get their pitch playable following heavy rain in the last few days, but it was not enough to beat the elements.

It is not the only game washed out. On the other side of the Severn Bridge, Bristol Rovers' game against Cheltenham Town was postponed earlier this morning due to a waterlogged pitch at the Memorial Stadium.
