Skipper Jake Wright is one of four players in contention to return from injury to boost Oxford United’s squad at Rochdale today.
Both he and fellow centre back Michael Raynes returned to training this week after recovering from knee and hip injuries respectively.
Forwards Deane Smalley and Dave Kitson are also in the frame following minor hamstring problems.
Caretaker boss Mickey Lewis said: “Raynesy and Jake have a chance of being involved, it’s just seeing if there is any reaction to the training.
“It would be good to have them in the squad at least.”
Tom Newey is still suspended, but if Wright is available he could fill in at left back, while Raynes’s return would probably see Sam Long drop to the bench.
