OXFORD United could be celebrating a league title tomorrow as their under 18 team face a crunch clash at Bristol Rovers.

It is the second season in a row Chris Allen’s side have faced the Pirates with silverware on the line.

Last year a goalless draw saw the U’s pipped by Rovers at the top of the Football League Youth Alliance South West Division.

This time United are in the driving seat and although others have games in hand, they know a point should be enough.

Allen admitted the players were devastated to miss out last season and with many still in the squad, United’s youth team coach believes they deserve glory after an excellent campaign.

He said: “I think they do, especially when they’ve been in and around it all season and they had a good run in the FA Youth Cup as well.

“There are some good individuals who have worked hard all season and to win the league would be fantastic.”
