Louis Bloomfield struck within eight seconds of the kick-off as North Berks League Division 1 leaders Saxton Rovers stretched their lead at the top to nine points with a 5-0 win at Long Wittenham Athletic on Saturday, writes Phil Annets.

Tom Stanley bagged a brace in the win and there were also goals for Frankie Haines and Danny Parry.

Third-placed Berinsfield kept in touch with the leaders, coming from behind to claim a narrow 3-2 victory at Wallingford Town.

Tom Baptie and Ashley Searle scored for the hosts either side of two goals in quick succession by David Murphy and Zak Gallagher for Berinsfield.

Then substitute Max Palmer grabbed the all-important winning goal for the visitors.

Drayton went down 2-0 at home to Abingdon Town, who scored through Martin Buckthorpe and Ricky Whiting.

Westminster continued their winning run in impressive fashion, inflicting a 2-1 defeat on Division 2 leaders Stanford in the Vale.

Jamie McGahey scored for the home side, but strikes by Dan Mountain and Mark Penner gave Westminster their sixth successive league victory.

Sutton Courtenay also won 2-1 at home to Watlington Town, with Mason Churton and Jack Dingwall scoring their goals.

Connor Blayachi replied for Watlington.

In Division 3, Uffington United won 4-3 at Saxton Rovers Res courtesy of goals from Dan Mastalerz, Pete Byrne, Dom Terrett and Chris Quinton.

Luke Dewar, Mike Quinan and Wayne Waldron all scored in vain for Saxton.

Division 4 leaders Stanford in the Vale Res went down 4-1 at Kennington Athletic thanks to goals from Tom Briggs, Andy Dier, Matt Crossan and Foley Secombe.
