RYAN Ledson is relishing the thought of seeing another bumper turn-out from Oxford United’s travelling army this afternoon.

About 3,500 supporters will head to Middlesbrough for the Emirates FA Cup fifth round tie at the Riverside.

It will be the tenth away crowd in excess of 1,000 this season and Ledson is still raving about the 2,825 who watched the 2-1 win at Swindon Town in the last trip.

“The fans have been brilliant,” he said.

“Swindon was one of the best I’ve been involved in. The fans were unbelievable and hopefully they can be the same at Middlesbrough. We’re just going to enjoy ourselves and if we get the result it’s even better.”

Ledson, who made his 50th career appearance in the midweek defeat to Southend, heads into the last-16 clash as one of the U’s form players.

The 19-year-old has excelled in recent weeks and puts it down to finally being able to play without discomfort in the knee he injured in September.

He said: “I was playing with a bit of pain, but as soon as I got those injections I felt I could run properly again.

“I’m feeling fit and like I can run all day.”
