Oxford United fans happy with fixtures

OXFORD United fans are happy with their start to next season's Blue Square Premier campaign - after being handed a home game to York in their opening match.

That curtain-raiser is at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday August 8.

Chris Wilder's team then head east, for away games against Kettering the following Tuesday, and Histon on the Saturday.

And on the thisisunited forums, supporters feel it is a good chance for United to instantly establish themselves as promotion candidates.

Steve Gilbert said: "I'm happy though with those fixtures - especially the run in, the only team on paper which will be tough is Mansfield at home."

And Jon1the1 added: "I agree. Tough first 10 games, good end to the season. Rushden on Boxing Day should be great and last game of the season in Eastbourne should be a good fun weekend!"

Peterborough player who has been loaned out at Havant, Grays and Kettering over the past 3 seasons. From what I seen o him last season he was ok but certainly nothing special.

It does seem to me that the first few signings we made this summer were top draw but the last few signings have been average at best.

i would pick Alfie over Yemi any day of the week, has pace and the ability to take on players with the added bonus of being able to shoot, unlike yemi.
