FOOTBALL: Ardington go top with victory over Wittenham

Goals from Lee Kent, Tom Eatwell and Tom Rowe gave Ardington & Lockinge a 3-1 victory over Long Wittenham Athletic which sees them replace their opponents at the top of North Berks League Division 1, writes Phil Annets. Ellis Cooper scored the goal for Wittenham. Saxton Rovers won 2-0 at home to Berinsfield courtesy of a Kyle Allsworth double.
Josh Nicholls and Josh McInnerny also both netted twice for Dorchester in their 4-1 win at Wootton and Dry Sandford, who replied through Mark Uttley.
Tom McGregor converted a penalty to register Harwell International’s first goal of the season, but it was too little, too late as by then Dan Martin, Robbie Harrington and Richard Evans had all scored for Faringdon Town to secure a 3-1 victory.
Dan Cox notched a hat-trick for Abingdon United Reserves in their 5-1 home Division 2 win over Drayton to remain at the summit Dan Oatway and Tom Larman netted their other goals with Luke Black replying.
Wantage Town A stay level on points in second following a 4-2 victory over Marcham with Liam McCulloch bagging a brace and Neil Cheshire and Luca Rennie also scoring.
Craig Dredge and Jonny Lloyd registered for Marcham. Coleshill United and Radley shared the points in a 2-2 draw with Tom Fila and James Head netting for the home side and Luke Ambler and Matt Hardwick scoring for the visitors.
Doubles for Tom Denmead and Jason Evans gave Faringdon Town Reserves a 4-1 win at East Hendred who netted via Ricardo Riccio.
Saxton Rovers Res won 3-0 at Steventon thanks to goals from James Foster, Mike Quinan and Lewis Smith.
In Division 3, Dave Arscott, Jon Radcliffe and Steve Morley were all on the mark for Benson Lions in their own 3-0 win at home to Harwell International Res.
Kennington Athletic took advantage of their Division 4 opponents Warborough United fielding only nine players by going on to win 12-0 with Stuart Dunham netting four times.
Alex Crossan grabbed a hat-trick, Andy Dier heading two goals, and Ben Cripps, Jack Clarkson and Matt Hutton also scoring.
Two goals from Tom Griffin and one each by Sam Powell and James Hicks gave East Hendred Res a narrow 4-3 win at Drayton Res with Pat Woodley, Luke Venn and Nick Wilson all scoring in vain for the home side.
Hagbourne United produced a 5-1 win at Berinsfield Res courtesy of a Stuart Goodenough brace and goals from Mason Churton, Mustapha Jallow and Connor Dawson. Darren Pettifer got a consolation for the home side.
Paul Haynes and Callum Bowler netted for Long Wittenham Athletic Res but they had to settle for a point as Matt Cramp and Andy Pickering scored for Grove Rangers in the 2-2 draw.
Faringdon Town A won 2-1 at home to Ardington & Lockinge Res with Glenn Townsend and Nick Wojcik scoring their goals. Alex Watts replied for the visitors.
Appleton Stars got the better of newly-formed Didcot Eagles in a 13-goal Division 5 thriller.
Andrew Alder netted a hat-trick for the home side – 8-5 losers – alongside strikes from Dom Byrne and Jamie Lister.
But it was all in vain as Alex Rodman and Dan Tucker both hit trebles for the Eagles along with goals by Jamie Munro and Dan Harper.
James Smith also hit a hat-trick for Wallingford Town Res to go with a Chris Allum effort, but they were held to a 4-4 draw by Grove Rangers Res who scored through Dave Summersbee, James Beard, Joe Courtney and Dan Ferguson.
Challow stay top after winning 4-1 at Hagbourne United Res with goals from Eammon McGowran, Kurtis Shaw, Ollie Floyd and Cam-eron Rankin. Warren Ralph scored for Hagbourne.
