FOOTBALL: Haysham given seven-match ban

Herald Series: Pablo Haysham has been sent off three times this season Pablo Haysham has been sent off three times this season

Didcot Town will be without Pablo Haysham until the New Year after the striker was handed a seven-match ban for being sent off for a third time this season in the Calor League.

He was due to miss Saturday’s trip to Division 1 South & West leaders Cirencester Town as part of a two-match suspension.

However, after his dismissal against Merthyr Town the previous Saturday, the FA added another five games, meaning he won’t be available until the trip to Thatcham Town on January 1.

Joint boss Ian Concannon felt the tackle by Haysham which led to Paul Keddle breaking a leg, did not warrant a red.

“It was a 50-50 challenge – Pablo has gone to win the ball and his momentum has taken him through,” said Concan-non.

“There was no intent there and Pablo was absolutely distraught after the game.

“I think he has been harshly treated.”
