JANUARY could make or break Didcot Town’s season, according to joint manager Ian Concannon, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The Railwaymen are scheduled to play nine times in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West over the next month, starting with tomorrow’s home clash against local rivals North Leigh.

And Concannon is determined that they start such a key period with a positive result.

“This is the first of nine games we’ll play in January and we’ve got some big games against teams at the top of the division, so it is a huge month for us,” he said.

“I believe that where we are at the end of January could determine where we finish the season.”

However, the visitors come into the game in impressive attacking form, having scored 11 goals in their last two matches.

And Millers boss Mark Gee has pledged to attack Didcot.

“We’re going to go there and be positive,” he said.

Midfielder Jon Else is away on holiday, but North Leigh are otherwise at full strength.

Nine-goal striker Pablo Haysham returns to the Didcot side after missing Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Fleet Town, but midfielder Lance Williams is away on holiday and defender Sam Elkins (illness) remains a doubt.

Mark Janes, Adam and Ian Lovegrove, Karl Roberts and Johnny Haist return as Wantage Town host Evesham United, looking to recover from a late defeat to Swindon Supermarine on Boxing Day.

In the Premier Division, Banbury United bid to build on their 5-1 win over Cirencester Town at home to high-flying Redditch United.

Declan Hartigan can play despite being sent off in that match, with his suspension not yet in effect.
