A DEPLETED Abingdon United shipped five goals in the second half as they crashed to a 6-0 defeat away to Highmoor Ibis in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.
United were without nine players and despite holding their own in the first half, suffered their second six-goal loss in as many weeks.
Mo Davies put the hosts ahead on 33 minutes when he steered a low cross into the back of the net, while Ryan Jackson-Wild had Abingdon’s best chance.
After the break, Ibis added further goals from Aston Robinson (2) and Davies, who completed his hat-trick with a brace.
Abingdon are fourth from bottom after recording only two victories in 12 games, with eight points.
They travel to ninth-placed Binfield on Saturday, looking to prevent a third-straight heavy defeat.
Chris Brind and Luke Stone excelled at the heart of the Letcombe defence as they drew 0-0 away to Shortwood United Res in Division 1 West.
Pat Howe had the visitors’ best effort but he shot over the crossbar.
They host Easington Sports on Saturday.
