DIDCOT Town boss Andy Ballard is relishing tomorrow’s Emirates FA Cup tie at Billericay Town, which is being played in front of BBC cameras for a live online streaming.

The first qualifying round match, which kicks off at 12.30pm, can be watched on mobile devices.

And although Billericay will be hot favourites, Ballard believes his side are more than capable of springing a cup upset.

“It’s probably the toughest draw we could have had at this level, but we will be positive and try and get a result,” Ballard said.

“They will be expected to win it quite comfortably.”

Billericay are top of the Bostick Isthmian League Premier Division and boast former Premier League stars Jermaine Pennant and Paul Konchesky among their ranks.

“They’ve got some money and some big players,” Ballard said.

“But they are in a no-win situation really and we have nothing to lose. I believe our lads play better against better teams, and it will be easy for me to get them up for the match.”

Ballard is also pleased that the game has chosen for live coverage.

“A couple of years ago we were live on TV against Exeter and a few of the lads are still in the squad from that game,” he said.

“This just brings a bit more excitement and entertainment factor back.”

Ballard has snapped up midfielder Ethan Lamptey – a first year professional at Northampton Town – on a one-month loan deal, and he goes straight into the squad.

The Railwaymen also have finally received international clearance for Australian centre forward Josh Pin, who is also set for his debut.

Sam Elkins (leg), Matty Woodley (thigh) and Stuart Cattell (dead leg) are slight doubts.

Banbury United host Tiverton Town and will be looking to continue their brilliant start to the season.

Jack Self returns to the squad after recovering from a calf and knee problem for Mike Ford’s men, who will be looking for their sixth successive win.

Ford said: “Being against a team from the same level helps. Sometimes you can play a team from a level below and there’s massive expectation.

“Being at home is also in our favour, and we are obviously in good form.

“This will be the toughest game so far,” Ford said.

“Tiverton have made a good start and will make life very tough for us.”

North Leigh host Evo-Stik South Premier outside Biggleswade Town, with Manny Agboola given permission to play in goal.

The keeper agreed a six-month loan from Oxford United before Tuesday’s defeat at Evesham United, having enjoyed a successful time at Eynsham Park 12 months ago.

“Manny was outstanding for us last season, producing many fine saves,” Brough said.

“I am very thankful to United for giving us permission to play him and his return is a big boost for us.”

The Millers have re-signed midfielder Josh Thomas on loan from Cheltenham Town – also for a six-month spell.

Of tomorrow’s tie, Brough is hopeful that his side can emulate last season’s FA Cup heroics.

“It’s another one-off game,” he said. “Our record last year was great against higher opposition, so hopefully it will be more of the same.”

Kidlington make the trip to Spartan South Midlands Premier Division side St Margaretsbury Town.

Keeper Sam Warrell is at a wedding, so Bojan Tetek returns in goal.

Declan Benjamin and Mark Bell return from injury, but Tom Franklin serves the final match of a three-game ban. Lance Williams (hamstring) is also ruled out.

Boss Julian McCalmon said: “It’s kind of good that we are playing a side we don’t know a great deal about, because it means we’ll approach the game as an unknown challenge.”

“We’re really hoping for a good cup run because we start getting bigger sides coming in next round and a bit of prestige.”

Thame United boss Mark West has warned his side to be on their guard as they make the trip to Baldock Town, who play two steps below them in Division 1 of the Spartan South Midlands League, on Sunday.

“They’ve won two FA Cup games already,” West said. “If you win two games in the cup, you’re not a bad side, and there are always surprises in the FA Cup,” he said. “We have to go there with the right attitude and make sure we are not one of them.”

West names an unchanged squad from the side that lost both games over the Bank Holiday weekend.

“I was away at a wedding last weekend, but I wasn’t very pleased with what I heard. I will be looking for a quick response,” West said.
