EAST Hendred moved up to second with a 5-0 victory at Stanford-in-the-Vale in the only North Berks Division 1 match played, writes RICHARD UNDERWOOD.

Adam Claydon, Michael Farrelly, Patrick Howe, Dan Timbrell and Harry Dalton all found the net for the visitors.

Saxton Rovers Res went top of Division 2 with a 3-1 victory against visitors Compton.

Carl Archer put Saxton in front, before Kyle Allsworth doubled the lead.

Compton pulled a goal back through Michael Butler, but George Goodenough restored Saxton’s two-goal lead.

In Division 4, Appleford picked up their first win with a thumping 8-0 success at Steventon Res.

Eddie Stanhope, Sam Ribeiro and Billy Baker all scored twice, with Richard Kirk and Harry Faulkner also on target.

In Group D of the North Berks Charity Shield, Saxton Rovers were far too strong for Faringdon Town Res with a 10-0 victory.

Tom Stanley claimed a four-timer, with Niall Hodgkins netted a brace. Further goals came from Dan Parry, Gary Belcher, Louis Bloomfield and Jack Bernasconi.

North Oxford won 3-1 against visitors Watlington Town in group A thanks to a brace from Jack Hinkin and a goal from Joe Brewer.

Sam Carter-Knight hit back for the visitors.

Berinsfield made a rousing start in Group C, thrashing visitors Westminster 7-2.

Max Palmer smashed a four-timer, with further goals from Chris Murphy, Charlie Lee and David Murphy. Dan Hill and Lewis Rippington replied.

Hanney United claimed a 3-1 win over Steventon.

Sam Bishop, James Bishop and Dan Morgan all hit the net for Hanney, while Sam North replied.

Meanwhile, Shane Roche scored a hat-trick as Chequers won 5-2 at home to Union Street in the Oxford City FA.

Masons Arms came from behind to win won 4-1 away to Headington Butchers, all the goals coming in the second half.

Yuri Deniev put Butchers in front, but masons responded with strikes from Mason Horwood (2), Tim Small and Jacob Minton.

l BISHOPS Itchington came from 2-0 down to beat hosts KEA 5-3 in the Banbury District & Lord Jersey FA.

Liam Godin and Ricki Bridges put KEA ahead in the Premier Division top-of the table clash, but the visitors scored five times in the second half through Joel Bennett, Stuart Cooper, Eddie Kostiuk’s penalty, Jordan Cox and Johnny Adair. Bridges added KEA’s third.
