VALE of White Horse Schools Under 13s moved into the last four of the Oxford United Cup with a 4-2 victory over Southampton at Milton United.
The hosts made the perfect start, Patrick Osborne scoring in the third minute after the Southampton keeper had parried a shot from Robbie Gallagher.
Vale hit the bar three times in quick succession before Gallagher increased the lead with a super shot into the top corner.
But the visitors reduced the arrears just before half-time, with poor tacking enabling Southampton to equalise early in the second half.
However, Patrick Osborne restored Vale’s lead and Gallagher added a fourth to secure a home semi-final against Cheltenham.
