DIDCOT Town’s hopes of reaching the Evo-Stik South League West Division play-offs were dented when Mangotsfield United struck late to inflict a first home defeat since November.

Kye Simpson completed his hat-trick in the 90th minute as the Railwaymen were beaten 4-3 and slipped to eighth – two points behind the top five.

Mangotsfield took the lead after just four minutes, Simpson firing past Leigh Bedwell.

The same player then doubled the visitors’ advantage just before the half-hour mark.

Morgan Williams reduced the deficit on 36 minutes after goalkeeper Lochlan Robertson could only parry Callum McNish’s effort into his path.

And just moments later Didcot were level after Robertson did well to keep out Williams’s wind-assisted corner, only for Adam Learoyd to head home.

But Didcot made a slow start to the second half and Mangotsfield retook the lead on 47 minutes when Jordan Williams netted.

The hosts looked to have earned a draw when substitute Seth Humphreys curled home with 15 minutes to go.

But Mangotsfield created one last chance which Simpson tucked away to Didcot’s despair.

Struggling North Leigh drew 3-3 at Yate Town.

Todd Hathaway fired the Millers into a first-minute lead, only for Adam Price to level moments later.

The visitors re-established their advantage on seven minutes when Matthew Grabe netted, but Steve Davies volleyed home midway through the half to make it 2-2.

The Millers, once again, went ahead when George Seacole scored to give them a 3-2 lead at the break.

However, they were forced to settle for a point after Yate equalised for a third time through Ross Langworthy.

Kidlington lost 3-1 at home to Wimborne Town.

The visitors opened the scoring on seven minutes after Tobias Holmes drove past goalkeeper Sam Warrell.

A fine Warrell save and goalline clearance from Tommy Castle prevented the visitors from making it 2-0.

The hosts then levelled on 28 minutes when Mark Janes headed home an Elliott Osborne-Ricketts cross.

But they conceded again before half-time as Holmes struck again.

Wimborne’s third arrived on 56 minutes when a powerful drive from Holmes dipped under the bar.

Liam Tack fired the visitors into a fifth minute lead.

But Fleet went 2-1 up thanks to goals from Toyosi Olusanya and Ashley Lloyd.

Christopher Wales and Bradley Wilson made it 4-1.

Lynton Goss replied, but it was merely a consolation.
