DIDCOT Town booked their place in the West Division play-offs with a 3-0 victory at home to Paulton Rovers.

Callum McNish, Felipe Barcelos and Sam Barder scored in a tense encounter as the Railwaymen finished sixth in the table.

They will now travel to Wimborne Town on Wednesday night.

In a cagey opening half of the Evo-Stik South League contest, Didcot goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell tipped over a long-range effort.

The hosts had dominated possession and deservedly took the lead on 44 minutes when Dave Murphy played in McNish to fire past Adam Forster.

With their play-off rivals all winning, Didcot needed to keep hold of their lead.

The Railwaymen secured their top-six spot in the last minute when Murphy found Barcelos, whose shot found the net despite Forster getting a hand to the striker’s effort.

Sam Barder put the icing on the cake in injury time, running on to another Murphy through ball to tuck under the goalkeeper and spark the celebrations.

Mangotsfield deservedly took the lead on 50 minutes when Kane Simpson netted, but McDonagh levelled moments later.
