A LATE strike from substitute Pablo Haysham helped Didcot ease past Combined Counties side Windsor 1-0 without too many alarms in their FA Cup 1st qualifying round clash.
But Didcot should have had the game wrapped up long before then, had they converted their openings.
Brian Bowles and James Clark missed good chances before Windsor keeper Rob Bullivant denied Elliott Osborne-Ricketts and Sam Elkins. The home side were more threatening playing with the slope in the second half, and Windsor’s Ben Harris shot just over thre bar.
Bullivant then denied Bowles twice in the space of a minute. The second of these saves was a brilliant effort in keeping out a curling shot that looked destined for the far corner of the net.
Windsor’s best chance of the game when Kyle Anthony pushed the ball agonizingly wide of the post with Didcot keeper Marco Belloli beaten.
Bullivant pulled-off a stunning stop to deny Clark at the other end, but there was nothing he could do on 74 minutes when Haysham cut inside and planted a shot from outside the box into the corner of the goal.
Didcot: Belloli, Heapy, Stanley, Elkins, Henderson, Thomas, Osborne-Ricketts, L Williams, Clark, Bowles (Tappin 75), M Williams (Haysham 67).
Attendance: 232.
