ABINGDON United’s good run came to an end with a 3-1 home defeat to high-flying Wimborne in Southern League Division 1 South & West.
Matt Kemble gave Wimborne the lead in the 43rd minute, when his shot squirmed through the grasp of Abingdon keeper Rob Durrant.
Steve Smith scored twice in the 75 and 80th minutes to seal Wimborne’s success.
Curtis Angell’s 82nd min-ute free-kick came too late.
Abingdon Utd: Durrant, Baker, Crudup, Carnell, Halliday, Tucker, Angell, Biddle, Evans, Nowell (Small 51), Riccio (Christodolou 64). Subs not used: Self, Bourne, Howell. Attendance: 72.
