Chinnor head coach Jason Bowers is delighted to welcome back Oxford Blue Alex Wadd-ingham for tomorrow’s home clash with Bournemouth.

Back-row forward Waddingham, who had an impressive Varsity campaign for the Dark Blues, goes straight into Chinnor’s squad for the National 2 South clash.

Bowers said: “We did a deal with Alex at the end of last season that he would be contracted to continue with us after the Varsity Match.

“It is a nice time to have our player of the year from last season back.

“We are looking forward to having him involved again.”

This will be Chinnor’s first match since December 15 and they are raring to go.

“We have had a good break,” said Bowers.

Chinnor won four of their last five matches before Christmas to end the year sixth in the table.

Bowers added: “If we match that in the second half of the season, I will be very pleased.”

Leading points scorer James Comben misses Henley Hawks’ home clash with Southend due to a shoulder injury.

Captain Tom Allen takes over at fly half as Henley bid to get back to winning ways after three defeats in five matches.

Liam O’Neill returns on the left wing, Richard Briggs plays his first game at full back, with Neil Baggett at outside centre.

Ryan Newman is back at openside flanker.
