NATIONAL 3 SOUTH WEST

DEFENSIVE lapses cost Oxford Harlequins in a 27-15 defeat at Bracknell.

Quins took the lead with a penalty from fly half Will Sharratt after 16 minutes.

But they had wing Ed Yeats yellow-carded before two penalties from George Owen put Bracknell 6-3 ahead.

Slack defence saw wing Owen score under the posts and kick the conversion for a 13-3 half-time lead.

Good interplay from the forwards and backs ended with Quins hooker Liam Nichols being driven over on 52 minutes.

But more poor Quins defence saw Bracknell’s hooker Stuart Sylvester drive over for Owen to convert on 62 minutes.

Quins were back in it at 20-15 when debutant Lloyd Willcocks went over, with full back Jack Robinson converting from the touchline.

The visitors pressed hard and were twice held up on the line before Bracknell broke away to seal victory with a try from Owen, which he converted himself.
