OXFORD Harlequins defeated Old Patesians for the first time with a 25-23 success at the Cheltenham club.

Quins started strongly and scored in the sixth minute when a sweeping move saw left wing Jack Robinson go over.

Old Pats reduced the deficit with a penalty from George Hughes, but on 21 minutes another sweeping move saw Will Sharratt break two tackles to score.

Robinson (pictured) converted, but slack Quins defence let in Lee Hathaway for a try converted by Hughes.

Next, Robinson slotted a penalty, while centre Mike Lee forced his way over to put Quins 20-10 up at the break.

The visitors had to defend well in the second half, but managed another try on 55 minutes when centre Keni Fisilau danced his way through.

A penalty from Hughes and a try from left wing Dan Burrows, converted by Hughes, reduced the gap to 25-20 on 64 minutes.

Hughes slotted another penalty, but Quins defended well for the remainder of the match and were unlucky not to score again.
