Craig Burrows says Grove will only settle for beating defending champions Oxford Harlequins in their first Oxfordshire Cup final tonight (8).

Grove and Harlequins will battle it out under the Iffley Road lights, and winning would see the South Oxfordshire club claim the biggest piece of silverware in their 43-year history.

They made the final after semi-final conquerors Chinnor were chucked out of the competition by the Oxford - shire RFU for fielding an ineligible player.

Regardless of how they made this evening’s showpiece, head coach Burrows is not willing to settle for a runners-up medal.

He said: “The first final for the club is an amazing achievement.

“People will point at how we got there, but we truly believe we are capable of winning.

“We’re not happy with settling for a place in the final.”

He continued: “Winning would really be a step up for the club.”

Grove make five changes from Saturday’s 16-8 win over Newbury.

Paul Miles and Dave Wells return in the pack. Roger Sevier starts, Brendan White moves to the wing and Tom Clipsham reverts to centre.

For Quins, retaining the cup would be an ideal way to end a miserable season following their relegation from National League 3 South West.

Player-coach Keni Fisilau said: “It’s been a very disappointing season, but at least we will have something to smile about if we win.”

Nick Marshall and Rupert Cowan return to the front row. Allan Purchase and Jonathan Miller start, and Lloyd Willcocks switches to No 8.

In the backs, Fisilau partners Will Sharratt at centre.
