JAMES Buckland says he is delighted to return to relegated London Welsh, after being named the club’s forwards coach until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old, who was a part of the Exiles’ coaching set up in their 2012-13 Aviva Premiership campaign, joined Welsh yesterday.

His arrival saw assistant coach Matt Ferguson leave the club after only ten months.

The Exiles’ relegation from the Premiership was confirmed in Sunday’s 29-14 defeat to Bath.

Welsh have lost all 18 league games, picking up just one bonus point.

They still have four games left to play.

Buckland, who made eight appearances for the Exiles while on loan from London Irish in 2009-10, will be in charge of the set-piece.

He said: “The invitation to join London Welsh until the end of the season was one I was delighted to accept.

“I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to test myself in a Premiership environment.

“Despite the club’s league position I’ve encountered a positive environment.

“The players are all eager to keep fighting.”
