CHINNOR’S poor start to the season continued as Bishop's Stortford scored six tries in a convincing 36-20 win at Kingsey Road in National League 2 South.

Apart from Bertie Hopkin’s third minute penalty for Chinnor, the first half was one-way traffic as Stortford secured the four-try bonus point and led 24-3.

The visitors extended their lead just after the break, before the hosts hit back with unconverted tries from Tom Burns and Michael Owen.

Stortford made it 36-13 with three minutes to go, but Chinnor scored with the last play of the day.

Greg Goodfellow nipped around the blind-side of the scrum for a try and Hopkin converted.

In National League 1, Henley Hawks drew 14-14 with Ampthill, ending their hosts' winning start to the season.

James Comben kicked a penalty as Hawks trailed 7-3 at the break.

Another Comben penalty further cut Ampthill’s lead, but a converted try from Dean Adamson made it 14-6.

Comben, once again, kicked a three-pointer and Hawks earned a draw when Jacob Albon crossed for an unconverted try.
