ALEX Cleminson scored two tries as newly promoted Didcot’s fine start to the season continued with a 39-8 win at Slough.

The BB&O Premier leaders led 8-3 at half-time, thanks to a Josh Witts penalty and Cleminson’s unconverted try.

A Slough score levelled the match after the break, but a Witts penalty nudged Didcot back in front, before two tries in four minutes from Ben Cox and Cleminson.

Witts converted both to make it 25-8.

Joe Morris and Chris Freeman then went over, Witts adding the extras.

Abingdon’s winless start continued in an 18-9 defeat at home to Chesham.

In the Championship, Oxford celebrated 107 years since the club was founded with a 44-3 win over Farnham Royal.

Ali Gibb, Miles Everett and Phil Gleeson all scored two tries apiece, while Matt Howells and Nemani Rayabo also crossed.

Wheatley were the biggest winners, though, convincingly beating Faringdon 76-3.

Jack Taylor, Andy Willis and Sander Mpanza all crossed twice, while Caillin Taylor, Simon Chadbone, Alex Gabbidon, Jordan Hook and Aaron Laman also went over.

Laman kicked 17 points, while Gav Stanton added two conversions.

Littlemore went top after a 40-10 victory over Harwell.
