CHINNOR’s already successful season has been boosted by the signing of two-time Oxford Blue Gus Jones, writes MICHAEL KNOX.

The dynamic 22-year-old flanker, who won the Junior World Cup with England under 20s, starts his debut on the bench as Chinnor entertain Exmouth in National 2 South.

Former Henley player Jones, who was signed up by Wasps last season, spent the summer in New Zealand.

But he will play for Chinnor this season when not required by the Dark Blues.

Following their hefty defeat by Barnes, Henley make major changes up front at home to newcomers Bury St Edmunds.

Dave Clements resumes as captain and will be partnered at lock by Jake Albon, who was No 8 against Barnes.

This position is filled by David Hyde, who will form a partnership with flankers Tom Hall and the highly-rated Connor Morrison.

Behind the scrum, James Comben takes over from Alan Awcock, while Simon Perry replaces the absent Xavier Andre on the wing

Oxford Harlequins, after their worst start to the season in many years, make seven changes for the visit of fellow strugglers Swindon in South West 1 East.

Depleted Quins crashed to a disastrous 77-0 defeat by Royal Wootton Bassett last week and are bottom of the table.

Their pack is strengthened by the return of props Matt Edney and Pete Boulton after injury, while Pete Alston is back at lock and Gus Milton and Robin Craig come into the back row.

Scrum fly half Sam Watkinson returns and Ed Yeats comes in on the left wing.
