OXFORD Harlequins made it three wins in a row with a 17-10 success at Chippenham in South West 1 East.

After the hosts took an early lead through Harry Taylor’s penalty, Quins responded with an unconverted try from prop Pete Boulton.

Chippenham regained the lead when prop Luke Corbett drove over under the posts for Taylor to convert.

The game turned on a superb 40-metre jinking run, which brought Jack Robinson a try. Ollie Jenner converted to put Quins 12-10 in front.

The visitors scored again just before the break, with a try from scrum half Guy Fairburn.

In a scoreless second half, Quins went close several times without adding to their tally.

Witney were unable to make the most of a favourable wind in the second half as they lost 17-5 at home to Newbury Blues.

After playing into the elements, Witney trailed only 7-0 at half-time to a try scored by centre Joshua Love, converted by Dan Thorne.

After the interval, Witney scored an early try from centre Matt Clarke, who came into the line and touched down to the right of the posts. The conversion was missed. could not score again.

Thorne kicked a penalty awarded for offside, before converting full back Joshua Bartlett’s try.

Banbury recorded a 31-10 victory at home to Reading.

Despite playing into a stiff breeze, the hosts led 10-5 at half-time thanks to a try from Jacob Mills plus a conversion and a penalty from Ed Phillips.

After ther break, they scored tries from prop Cash Chilvers and lock Matt Brock, who powered over on the overlapPhillips converted both to make it 24-5.

Reading gave themselves hope with a score from a tap penalty, but Banbury had the final say with their bonus-point fourth try through Josh Deegan. Philips completed a 100 per cent record from the tee with his fourth conversion.

Grove lost 15-12 at home to Old Patesians.
