MATT Williams is calling on Chinnor to use their thrilling victory against Barnes as a platform for the final two-and-a-half months of the season.

The Kingsey Road-based club travel to Bury St Edmunds tomorrow, a week after a last-minute try earned a bonus-point win to keep them top of National League 2 South.

At 17-17, Chinnor spent four minutes defending, before captain Danny Barnes’ dramatic 79th-minute score.

Director of rugby Williams believes it could turn out to be a crucial moment in their promotion push.

He said: “We look for moments that can lift and turn a season.

“I’ve challenged the boys to use that last five minutes, just to raise confidence levels going into the last nine games.

“The way we defended, it was brilliant, nothing short of brilliant.”

No 8 Tom Burns returns, as does lock CJ Osazuwa (broken rib).

Props Mark Darlington and Joe Hutchinson are handed starts, while Richard Thorpe is rested, so Ben Pienaar moves to blind-side flanker.

In the backs, Basil Strang and Luke Hibberd return, with Charlie Broughton switching to inside centre.

Henley Hawks have rung the changes amongst the forwards ahead of their trip to promotion-chasing Old Elthamians.

With Connor Morrison injured (shoulder) and Tom Hall unavailable, head coach Pete Davies has been forced to shuffle his pack.

Captain Dave Clements moves to blind-side flanker, with David Hyde returning at lock.

Prop Dave Manning switches to loose-head, while Ziana Montout-Alexis starts at tight-head.

In South West 1 East, Oxford Harlequins bid for a third straight home win, when they host Windsor (2).

Hooker Chris Davies starts, Keni Fisilau moves to inside centre and Rob Wilson comes in on the wing.

Banbury travel to Old Patesians, with Grove and Witney also away from home, at Newbury Blues and Maidenhead respectively.
