CHINNOR have looked to bolster their pack by signing forwards Jack Ramshaw and Joe Green.

The duo’s arrival at the National League 2 South side, who only missed out on the play-offs last season on games won, strengthens the options in the back row.

Ramshaw, who came through the London Irish Academy, joins from Greene King IPA Championship side Rotherham Titans.

The back-row forward, who can also play at lock, said: “The last year has been tough – injured in the first game then missing most of the season.

“But having spoken to Matt (Williams, director of rugby) it sounds like we are building a team that can kick on again from last season.

“I’m really looking forward to playing my part and getting a full season under my belt.”

Former Leicester Tigers Academy player Joe Green joins from Nottingham.

The 20-year-old, who is a set-piece specialist, said: “All I want to do is play.

“It’s important for my development that I get as many minutes as possible and I believe I can do that at Chinnor.

“I can’t wait to start.”

Ramshaw and Green join former Rotherham lock Daz Oliver as new additions to the pack.

The 29-year-old rejoined Chinnor a couple of weeks ago after a season in the Championship.

Oliver said: “I’m so happy to be back in the black and white – top lads, great club and fantastic supporters.

“Time to finish off what we started.”

With Nathan Hannay, CJ Osazuwa and Tom Burns leaving the club, Williams was keen to reinforce his pack.

He said: “With Ross Parkins, who has played so well for the Army, and the ever reliable Ben Manning, we have really strong options in the row.

“With Nathan Hannay retiring and CJ moving up, it was vital I acted quick to fill the whole.

“I believe we have the strongest engine-room depth in the league, which is vital when striving for success.

“It is a long gruelling season and a squad, not a team, is key to success.”
