MATT Williams says Chinnor cannot afford to get carried away by their impressive start to life in National League 1.

The Thame-based side stunned Plymouth Albion in Devon on their debut in the third tier of English rugby.

Ampthill are the first visitors to Kingsey Road this weekend and director of rugby Williams wants Chinnor to keep their feet on the ground.

He said: “We can’t get carried away.

“We’ve only played one game, but people on Saturday were very sure of the result before a ball had been kicked and that put us in a total win-win position.

“At this stage, it’s simply about collecting as many points as we can.

“Everyone is expecting Ampthill to be there or thereabouts.

“We’ll play our own rugby and make them have to beat us and it won’t be an easy ride for them.”

Last weekend’s try-scorers Tom Burns and Craig Holland keep their places at No 8 and on the wing respectively.

Chinnor’s only change is at openside flanker, where Rob Bell comes in.

Henley Hawks eye back-to-back wins in National League 2 South when they host Barnes.

Flanker Tom Hall is in line for his 100th appearance for the club, while head coach Luke Allen has made three changes.

Ian Stock, Dave Manning and Simon Perry all come into the side.

Allen said: “Despite Saturday’s excellent win, we have to be able to back that performance up and make sure we put in another solid display."

In South West 1 East, Oxford Harlequins begin life on the artificial surface at their new Horspath Sports Ground home against Salisbury.

Ramen Farahani, Tom Guthrie and Martin Nutt are handed starts.

Banbury travel to Beaconsfield, while Witney take on Royal Wootton Bassett.

This weekend also marks the start of the season for levels seven and below, with Grove kicking off their first campaign in Southern Counties South with a trip to North Dorset.
