Two late goals sent Wallingford slipping to a 4-2 defeat away to Staines 2nd – their first loss of their South League Regional 1 campaign Staines took the lead from a short corner which they held onto until half time.

Wallingford came out strongly after the break, with Ed Allen equalising from a short corner.

The hosts regained their lead shortly afterwards, clinically converting a harshly-awarded short corner.

It did not take long for Wallingford to get level again with Allen scoring his second goal, finishing off a well-worked move down the right of the pitch.

With the game in the balance at 2-2 and ten minutes left, Staines scored two breakaways as Wallingford pushed forward looking for goals, leaving themselves exposed at the back.

This Saturday Wallingford hope to regain their winning ways when they host Aylesbury at the Hithercroft.
