Promising young karting talent Elliot Harvey’s dream of competing in the X30 world final at Le Mans this year has been hit by a lack of cash.

The 13-year-old, from Didcot, goes into the final round at the PFI circuit in Grantham on October 5 level on points with Alfie Brown and is assured of a top-three finish.

His father Andrew said: “Elliot’s goal for this year was to get a ticket to the final, but he is now not in a position to go as we have not been able to fund the trip.

“Any companies who think they could help one of the top kart drivers in the country, please get in touch (at newlookdidcot@aol.com) as we are looking for long-term partners into 2015 and beyond.”

In the penultimate round of the Little Green Man Junior X30 UK Tour visit Shenington near Banbury, Harvey finished second in the final.

He had a collision in a third heat, which ended his race and resulted in major damage and a bent chassis, which was repaired in time for the final.

Starting from third on the grid, Harvey settled for second, but crucially finished ahead of championship leader Brown.
