HARWELL tumbler Ben Goodall has been offered a place in the World Age Group team for the 2015 World Trampoline and Tumbling Championships in Denmark this week.

The 17-year-old thought the gold medal he won in Portugal for Great Britain last month would be the highlight of a successful 2015, a campaign that also saw him take gold in the British Qualifiers and a silver in the British Tumbling Championships final.

He had trialled for the GB Worlds team back in September, but had narrowly missed out on a place.

However, last week he was back at the National Gymnastics Centre in Lilleshall for the GB 17-18 squad’s Worlds training camp, due to a serious injury to one of the team’s tumblers.

And after spending a week at the camp getting himself competition-ready, Goodall flew out with the rest of the squad to Odense early on Sunday morning.

He was training in the arena in Denmark at the start of this week, ahead of the competition, which starts tomorrow.

He will make his appearance on Saturday morning in the 17-18 men’s event against the best tumblers in the world – gymnasts from countries including Russia, China, Canada, USA and host country Denmark – and it will be his third international in GB kit.
