ABINGDON Vale youngsters wiped the floor with the opposition in Witney SC’s Development Gala.
The Vale squad of competitive swimmers aged 12 years and under, took on and beat the hosts Witney as well as teams from Oxford, Wantage, Henley and Bicester.
They rattled up 243 points to win by a massive margin of 39 from City of Oxford.
Vale were quickest off the blocks with three wins and two second places in the first five relay races.
They finished the gala by winning the canon relay of 6x50m freestyle event.
Abingdon coach Amanda Ford said: “I was proud to see our swimmers put into practice the skills worked on in training.”
Result: 1 Abingdon Vale 243, 2 City of Oxford 204, 3 Witney & District 163.5, 4 Wantage White Horses 152, 5 Henley Swimming 125, 6 Bicester Bluefins 104.5.
