Darius Skop made it six wins out of six to continue the explosive start to professional boxing.

Fighting in front of a sell-out crowd at the famous York Hall in Bethnal Green, the South Moreton BC cruiserweight repaid the 100 fans, who had travelled to the capital from Oxfordshire to cheer him on.

Dominating his dangerous opponent Martin Szatmari, Skop scored a thrilling knockdown in the last round to seal a convincing 60-55 points victory.

His trainer John Houston, said: “Darius is showing improvement in every fight as we are stepping up his level of opposition "We are looking at securing him a shot at the Southern Area Cruiserweight title in his next couple of fights or so.”

Skop, who also trains at The Athlete Centre in Oxford, said: “I was going out to stop him in the last round, but the bell came quickly after the knockdown and I couldn’t get the finish I wanted.

“I really appreciate all the support from the fans who travelled all this way to cheer me on, and I’ll be back in the gym Monday to work on improvements.”

Skop, who is also sponsored by Brubeck sports clothing, and Grundon, is planning on at least four more fights this year.
